Gathering: New York City - Private Preview & Reception

Gathering is an invitation. It’s a party, a protest, a celebration of harvest, the championship game. Gathering is a night of storytelling and play that is part staged work, part interactive experience in collaboration with local artists and audiences.

See a special private preview of Gathering: New York City before its world premiere 20-22 June at The Shed, followed by a reception with the company, supporters, and friends. Your presence will help Yaa Samar! Dance Theatre raise vital funds to support this ambitious new work that tells the stories of under-represented communities, and furthers our mission to create programs that expand access to - and promote understanding through - the arts.

Gathering: New York City is commissioned by The Shed as part of Open Call's third edition (2023 – 24), with the support of a 2022 – 23 CUNY Dance Initiative Residency at Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden and a 2023 Residency at Dance Place in Washington DC.
